Helping children in our community

Every child should be given the opportunity to experience the positive benefits of a sport. This belief is so important to the members of the Danforth Village Business Improvement Area (DVBIA) that for the past three years we have assisted in removing financial barriers by donating $20,000 annually to local sport clubs. The DVBIA sponsorship program has made contributions to baseball, hockey and soccer teams to assist with operation costs, including ice, insurance, uniforms and equipment.

Michael Holmes, President of the East York Baseball Association says this “We would not be able to offer affordable fees without the support of sponsors like the Danforth Village BIA. The financial support of the DVBIA enables the community sport clubs to offer programs at affordable fees and the staff are able to concentrate on teaching sports to kids which is what they do best not fund raising to subsidize costs.”

The Danforth Village BIA is very proud to be part of helping more children in our community access sports, become more active, and share the pleasure and team of sports with others.
